For this assignment, we were tasked with creating a design that involved one halftone and one film positive image printed in layers.
One huge thing that influences me in my work is media— primarily books and music. A large portion of my projects have been inspired by those two forms of media in some way, whether it’s the content itself (song lyrics, melodies, storylines, themes) or the packaging it comes in.
Because of all of this, I decided to center my project around the imagery of a book—especially since I’ve been trying to read every day recently—and all the emotions and creative influences that spring from it.
The three books in particular that the illustration was based off of are (left to right) Ready Player One, the Nevernight Chronicles, and Six of Crows.
